I Was Sick & You Visited Me: Modern Healthcare as Christian Vocation

Wednesday, September 17, 2025 - 6:30-8:30 PM | Registration for I Was Sick & You Visited Me: Modern Healthcare as Christian Vocation

The life and ministry of Jesus Christ launched a moral revolution that has changed the world, including how societies care for the sick and suffering. Jesus’ teaching and healing ministry – along with the ministry of those who followed his calling over the centuries – have helped lay the foundations of healthcare. Healthcare workers today, however, face new challenges, including burnout and distrust from patients and the public. What resources does the Christian faith offer for modern healthcare, its providers, and the challenges they face today?

Healthcare professionals across disciplines – and those interested in the intersection of Christianity and healthcare – are invited to a forum hosted by the Center for Public Christianity featuring Dr. Warren Kinghorn, psychiatrist and professor of theology and medicine at Duke University.

Where: Center for Architecture and Design14 East Peace Street, Raleigh, NC 27604

Agenda: The evening will begin with a social hour over drinks and hors d'oeuvres, followed by a talk and discussion.

Suggested dress code is business casual or business professional.

Registration fee is $15, with scholarships available.
