An event hosted by Vintage Church in partnership with the Center for Public Christianity When: Friday, April 4th; 6:30-8:00pm Where: Vintage Church, upstairs classroomDigital technology seems to offer us endless freedom – freedom of speech and thought; the freedom to see, do, and experience anything; to connect with new people, culture, and worlds; the freedom to define and express ourselves the way we want. In many ways, technology gives us remarkable freedom. But digital tech also leads to the very opposite of freedom – addiction, slavery, anxiety, and uncertainty about what is true and real, what or whom to trust. Much of the freedom that technology promises turns out to be an illusion. How can we think about and use technology in ways that actually liberate us? Join us for an evening with Dr. Bradford Littlejohn we explore the unique, life-giving wisdom that Christianity offers for living with true freedom in the digital age. ABOUT THE SPEAKER Bradford Littlejohn (Ph.D., University of Edinburgh) is a fellow in the Evangelicals and Civic Life program at the Ethics and Public Policy Center. He founded and served for 10 years as president of The Davenant Institute and currently serves as a professor of Christian history at Davenant Hall and an adjunct professor of government at Regent University. His recently published book Called to Freedom retrieves the notion of Christian liberty to reconceptualize freedom today, and has been acclaimed a “must read,” “a tour de force,” and “a breath of fresh air.”
